At the beginning of September, we put the first batch of the second version of the Open-Cube into production in China, along with two of our own sensor designs. 25 Open-cubes, 50 optical reflective RGB sensors and 30 LIDAR distance sensors should be produced.
During the manufacturing, the company asked to confirm the pick-and-place file for the LASER distance sensor, with U3 position corrected….
The sensors were redesigned to use only parts available at JLCPCB parts stock, as the price for assembly is lower than at AllPCB. The Open-Cube uses about 70 different SMD components that were not in stock at JLCPCB and thus AllPCB was used, they order parts that are in stock at Mouser (or hopefully lcsc.com).
